Brian Fox closed MDEP-244.
--------------------------

    Resolution: Won't Fix

The deploy and install plugins use this for goals that are meant to take some random project
and install or deploy it, like 3rd party jars. Maven core uses the -f parameter to allow you
to specify an alternate pom, this is what you want. The dependency plugin does not read the
pom file directly so there's nothing to be done here.

> To use copy-dependencies, the pom file currently has to be called pom.xml. The main plugins
like install and deploy support a "pomFile" parameter so that you can specify the pom file
on the command line. It would be good if the Dependency plugin goals did the same.
