Allow to configure numeric plugin parameters using hexadecimal or octal notation
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: MNG-5010
                 URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNG-5010
             Project: Maven 2 & 3
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Plugins and Lifecycle, POM
    Affects Versions: 3.0.2
            Reporter: Benjamin Bentmann
            Priority: Minor

In some contexts, it's more convenient to specify a number in hexadecimal or octal notation.
Plugin authors that currently wish to support this need to declare the parameter type as String
and need to handle the conversion themselves. This should eventually be supported by the underlying
configuration framework out of the box.
