ASF GitHub Bot commented on METRON-9:
-------------------------------------

GitHub user sirsean opened a pull request:

    https://github.com/apache/incubator-metron/pull/6

    [METRON-9] Adding a gitignore file

The MVN build process creates a bunch of files (ie, the target directories) that we don't
need filling up our source control.

You can merge this pull request into a Git repository by running:

    $ git pull https://github.com/sirsean/incubator-metron gitignore

Alternatively you can review and apply these changes as the patch at:

    https://github.com/apache/incubator-metron/pull/6.patch

To close this pull request, make a commit to your master/trunk branch
with (at least) the following in the commit message:

    This closes #6

> Project: Metron

> Priority: Minor
>
> After running `mvn clean install`, I see this:
> ```
> $ git status
> On branch master
> Your branch is up-to-date with 'origin/master'.
> Untracked files:
> (use "git add <file>..." to include in what will be committed)
> opensoc-streaming/OpenSOC-Alerts/target/
> opensoc-streaming/OpenSOC-DataLoads/dependency-reduced-pom.xml
> opensoc-streaming/OpenSOC-DataLoads/target/
> opensoc-streaming/OpenSOC-EnrichmentAdapters/target/
> opensoc-streaming/OpenSOC-Indexing/target/
> opensoc-streaming/OpenSOC-MessageParsers/target/
> opensoc-streaming/OpenSOC-Pcap_Service/target/
> opensoc-streaming/OpenSOC-Topologies/target/
> ```
> It'd be better if it didn't do that, so let's add a .gitignore file that starts with
omitting all those from source control.
