Subject [jira] [Commented] (METRON-13) Add a new contributor document
Date Thu, 07 Jan 2016 20:14:39 GMT

Elana Hashman commented on METRON-13:

Okay so I did manage to find this `` file in the wiki, which wasn't mentioned
in the README:

It is woefully out of date. For instance, all the contacts are listed as Cisco emails. There
is a "public" Google group that told me I must be a member to view it, and an IRC channel
that doesn't have anyone in it. :(

It would be helpful if anyone could point me in the right direction on this to update all
this info. I'd be happy to put a pull request together.

> When I visit the project on GitHub, I find there is no `` file or similar
available for new contributors. Such a file should contain:
> - Where to find issues (i.e. a link to the JIRA)
> - Where to find more information about the project (neither the official project website
nor documentation are provided links in the README)
> - How to build the code (covered by METRON-7)
> - Contact info for the team (IRC channel? mailing lists?)
> Some other things that would be nice to include...
> - How to pick issues to work on as a new contributor
> - A style guide for contributions
> - What the code review process looks like
