Subject [jira] [Created] (METRON-757) Colocation of Hadoop and HBase clients with Storm worker nodes not enforced
Date Tue, 07 Mar 2017 00:02:33 GMT
Ryan Merriman created METRON-757:
------------------------------------

Summary: Colocation of Hadoop and HBase clients with Storm worker nodes not enforced
                 Key: METRON-757
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/METRON-757
             Project: Metron
          Issue Type: Bug
            Reporter: Ryan Merriman

The parser topology has a dependency with HDFS when configured with a GrokParser. If the
host running the GrokParser doesn't have a Hadoop Client installed (in Ambari terms), the
local file system will be used instead and this message is logged:

Java.lang.RuntimeException: Grok parser Error: Grok parser unable to initialize grok parser:
Unable to load /apps/metron/patterns/ranger from either classpath or HDFS

The MPack should ensure all Storm worker nodes have the Hadoop and HBase clients installed.
