I didn't commit it myself. I wasn't a PMC member at that time and then there was the git migration.
Anyway, thanks for the reminder. If the patch is easily committable, you can do it, else I

Reducing code duplication is a good thing. But TestDriver begins to have too many responsibilities.
A solution would be to use composition in order to extract responsibilities from it.
