Subject [jira] [Commented] (PHOENIX-8) Apache Phoenix 3.0
Date Tue, 21 Jan 2014 20:27:24 GMT

James Taylor commented on PHOENIX-8:

Maybe you're right [~apurtell], given the timelines we're talking about.

Lots of new stuff in 3.0:
- Joins (through HashJoins)
- VIEW support
- Multi-tenant support (on top of VIEW support)
- Sequences
- ARRAY support
- GROUP BY spill-to-disk

Stuff left to do (see
for a detailed list):
- Multi-tenancy
  Misc cleanup
  Support indexing
- Joins:
Improve performance (off by about 2x from where we want it)
Add test to cover salted table on lhs, rhs, and both
Add test to cover view creation with join
Prevent entire array from being returned from server on element access
- Misc bugs
- Allow Phoenix 3.0 to coexist with Phoenix 2.x

propose the first version of Phoenix released under the Apache roof should be 3.0.0.
