Dont really understand what you are upto, but all i can say is that if
POIfs says "invalid header signature", then the header signature is
invalid :)

Are you sure the stream you are getting from the resultset is a proper
OLE2CDF object (try writing it to file from db, and run poi on it as a
file). 

If that is correct, then the problem might be the slow InputStream
