Subject [jira] [Created] (QPID-4904) [Java] AMQShortString.equals should on return true if it is being compared to another AMQShortString
Date Mon, 03 Jun 2013 11:24:19 GMT
Rob Godfrey created QPID-4904:
---------------------------------

Summary: [Java] AMQShortString.equals should on return true if it is being compared
to another AMQShortString
                 Key: QPID-4904
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/QPID-4904
             Project: Qpid
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Java Common
            Reporter: Rob Godfrey
            Assignee: Rob Godfrey

Currently AMQShortString.equals will return true if it is passed an instance of CharSequence
which contains the same character sequence as the AMQShortString, however this means that
a.equals(b) != b.equals(a) if a is an AMQShortString and b is (for example) a String. This
is an violation of the expected contract from equals.
