Subject [jira] [Created] (SENTRY-233) Disable hdfs blockcache during solr e2e tests
Date Fri, 23 May 2014 22:42:03 GMT
Gregory Chanan created SENTRY-233:

Summary: Disable hdfs blockcache during solr e2e tests
                 Key: SENTRY-233
             Project: Sentry
          Issue Type: Test
    Affects Versions: 1.4.0
            Reporter: Gregory Chanan
            Assignee: Gregory Chanan
             Fix For: 1.4.0

I've seen cases where the tests fail because it runs out memory to allocate the cache, e.g.:
2014-05-23 15:20:50,236 (qtp1580548625-152) [ERROR - org.apache.solr.core.CoreContainer.recordAndThrow(\] Unable to create core: allRolesCollection_shard1_replica1
org.apache.solr.common.SolrException: The max direct memory is likely too low. Either increase
it (by \
adding -XX:MaxDirectMemorySize=<size>g -XX:+UseLargePages to your containers startup
args) or disable d\
irect allocation using in solrconfig.xml.
If you ar\
e putting the block cache on the heap, your java heap size might not be large enough. Failed
~134.217728 MB.

It's probably better to just disable to cache because that isn't really what we are testing.
