Subject [jira] [Commented] (SPARK-15406) Structured streaming support for consuming from Kafka
Date Fri, 07 Oct 2016 05:03:20 GMT

Reynold Xin commented on SPARK-15406:

Would it make sense to create a standard format for the log so it is recoverable? Options
I can think of are JSON or protobuf. Protobuf would be more stable and have better tooling,
but not human readable. JSON would be the most human readable.

Streaming. Here is the design doc for an initial version of the Kafka Source.

> Structured streaming doesn't have support for kafka yet. I personally feel like time
based indexing would make for a much better interface, but it's been pushed back to kafka
