Subject [jira] [Created] (SQOOP-1187) Support for PGpoint Data Type
Date Tue, 03 Sep 2013 08:04:55 GMT
Henning Kropp created SQOOP-1187:
------------------------------------

Summary: Support for PGpoint Data Type
                 Key: SQOOP-1187
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SQOOP-1187
             Project: Sqoop
          Issue Type: Improvement
            Reporter: Henning Kropp
            Priority: Minor

It would be nice if sqoop would support PGpoint data type.

http://jdbc.postgresql.org/documentation/publicapi/org/postgresql/geometric/PGpoint.html

Currently an exception is thrown:
13/09/03 09:55:01 ERROR orm.ClassWriter: No Java type for SQL type 1111 for column coordinates
13/09/03 09:55:01 ERROR sqoop.Sqoop: Got exception running Sqoop: java.lang.NullPointerException

It should be easy to find a representation in Avro. For CSV a text form like "(x,y)" or "[x,y]"
should be sufficient.
