Subject [jira] [Created] (SQOOP-1313) Provide an option to TRUNCATE tables before exporting
Date Thu, 24 Apr 2014 15:18:14 GMT
Lars Francke created SQOOP-1313:
-----------------------------------

Summary: Provide an option to TRUNCATE tables before exporting
                 Key: SQOOP-1313
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SQOOP-1313
             Project: Sqoop
          Issue Type: Improvement
    Affects Versions: 1.4.4
            Reporter: Lars Francke
            Priority: Minor

It'd be great to have an option to TRUNCATE tables before exporting data to them.

There were a couple of mailing list posts about this feature already[1].

Sometimes the data has to be replaced completely and having the option of Sqoop taking care
of clearing the data first would be convenient. Currently we need to run a custom java action
first that does the truncating.
