What part of writing serialized VO objects to the raw ServletOutputStream is confusing to you?
You still have to set the mime-type in the header correctly because you're using HTTP, but
other than that, its pure serialized objects.

Craig only answered "yes" to XML, but not the
serialized VO objects....

I am not the person who asked the question. In the
question, you must notice that "as against HTML or 
XML text strings". So Craig's answer is not correct.
