My feeling is that adding this option would tempt many users (especially
beginners) to start twisting the architecture of their application around,
and run themselves into problems because they don't understand what they
would be giving up by setting this to false.

Advanced users who understand the implications, and want to do it anyway,
are also generally advanced to figure out how to subclass RequestProcessor
and turn off resets if they want to, without putting everyone else at risk
for making mistakes.
