Are you sure you've

a) got the appropriate -D's in place, such that the right XML parser is being 
used (Saxon)
b) That Saxon is in Ant's lib directory 
c) That no other XML parser is in ant's lib directory?

Strictly speaking, it may be that the above is not required. I had "issues" 
otherwise.  I created a simple .bat file to set the right args for Ant (since 
I don't want to use Saxon in all cases) - and then call Ant.
