thanks, I ended up doing something like this:

            using (MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream())
            {
                FlexBC.Write(new TJSONProtocol(new TStreamTransport(ms,
ms)));
                ms.Seek(0, SeekOrigin.Begin);
                StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(ms);
                string jsonTxt = sr.ReadToEnd();
                Console.WriteLine(jsonTxt);
            }
