Subject Tiles Problem
Date Thu, 17 Dec 2009 21:13:55 GMT
Hi All,

I had my tiles working correctly. However, it wasn't "architected" in
an efficient manor and when I rearranged things I get this error:

"javax.servlet.ServletException: Path page.priority does not start
with a "/" character"

I've searched the internet and tried a few things but have not been
able to solve the problem. I'm still fairly new to tiles so can
someone assist me?
Also, is this the best way to set up or architect a tiles solution in
struts? The relevant portions of the code are shown below . . .

I'm executing the maintain.do action in struts-config.xml (a portion
of which is shown below)

************** portion of struts-config.xml *********************

<action path="/maintain"
            <forward name="ShowPriority" path="page.priority"/>

A portion of my tiles-defs.xml is shown below:

************* portion of tiles-defs.xml ***************************

	<!--  Base Tiles Definition -->
	<definition name="base.definition" template="/template.jsp">
		<put-attribute name="title" value="Tiles tutorial homepage" />
		<put-attribute name="header" value="/header.jsp" />
	                <put-attribute name="menu" value="/menu.jsp" />
	                <put-attribute name="leftnav" value="/leftnav.jsp" />
		<put-attribute name="footer" value="/footer.jsp" />
	<!-- Tiles Definition of priority page -->
	<definition name="page.priority" extends="base.definition">
		<put-attribute name="body" value="/priority.jsp" />

etc. . . .

The "Maintain" Action that executes simply has:

****************** portion of "Maintain" Action **********************

        forward = mapping.findForward("ShowPriority");
        return (forward);
