Matt Frantz commented on TINKERPOP3-761:
----------------------------------------

Just realized something. First, you can always accept {{Traversal}} for property values because
they are in the varargs and so do not require overloading. That will scale better instead
of having a large number of {{with}} or {{by}} clauses that you have to maintain in sync with
your property list.

That means you only need one or two {{by}} clauses, so the additional precision provided by
{{with}} is unnecessary.

Also, there is no ambiguity with {{String}} because those two arguments must be {{Vertex}}
or {{Traversal<?, Vertex>}}.

> Every once in a while I wish to have steps for some basic mathematical operations ({{add()}},
{{sub()}}, {{mul()}}, {{div()}}). Since {{sub(num)}} is the same as {{add(-num)}} and {{div(num)}}
is the same as {{mul(1/num)}}, we would only need two new step implementations.
> Oh, and then there's also {{mod()}}, thus 3 new step implementations.
