If you want to change the default session inactive interval in your
web application, the best way is to configure that in your web.xml file.
Here is an example where the session timeout is set to 60 minutes.

<web-app>

  <session-config>
    <session-timeout>60</session-timeout>
  </session-config>

</web-app>
