Subject [jira] [Created] (TOMEE-2119) Providers are not always integrated with CDI
Date Mon, 21 Aug 2017 15:50:00 GMT
TURPIN Michel created TOMEE-2119:
------------------------------------

Summary: Providers are not always integrated with CDI
                 Key: TOMEE-2119
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TOMEE-2119
             Project: TomEE
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: TomEE Core Server
    Affects Versions: 7.0.3
            Reporter: TURPIN Michel

This might be related to TOMEE-2045 and I haven't tested against the latest sources, but here
is my issue :

When registering a provider (say an ExceptionMapper) with its class through a Feature, no
injection ever happen even if the provider is annotated with {{@ApplicationScoped}} for instance.
The problem is solved when the {{@Provider}} annotation is also present on the provider.

By the way, I fail to see where it is specified a provider should be enabled with CDI injection.
If one could tell me what part of the spec defines this behavior it could help me so I can
make sure the tools I'm working on should be safe to use on other application servers and
also get out of the "It works but I don't know why" zone.
