Cees Bos commented on TOMEE-2200:
---------------------------------

[~jgallimore]

We did a validation today with the 2.0.7-SNAPSHOT version, we still face the same issue as
referred by [~dkwakkel]. The issue in OpenWebBeans: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OWB-1248

The issue in OpenWebBeans is fixed in 2.0.7, which is not released yet.
But TomEE uses 1.7.5, for that version it is not fixed or patched. We tried to replace some
jars with 2.0.7 version, but with no luck so far.

So TomEE 2.0.7 is not ready for Java 11 yet due to the usage of sun.misc.Unsafe.defineClass.

> Not sure if tomee will support java 11, but with latest java 11 version it is not possible

> Reason is that defineClass is used which is no longer supported with java 11 (at least
here, maybe also on other places):
> container/openejb-core/src/main/java/org/apache/openejb/util/proxy/LocalBeanProxyFactory.java:
> return Unsafe.defineClass(cl, classToProxy, proxyName, proxyBytes);
> Same issue has openwebbeans: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OWB-1248
