Subject [jira] Closed: (UIMA-420) CVD should use encoding list provided by JVM
Date Wed, 28 May 2008 16:59:45 GMT

]

Thilo Goetz closed UIMA-420.
----------------------------

       Resolution: Fixed
    Fix Version/s: 2.3

Removed manual handling of code pages in CVD. Code pages are now automatically obtained from
the JVM. Had to implement my own folding menu version to handle the very long code page menus.
 It's not pretty, but apparently, it works.

> The CVD should use the character sets provided by the JVM, not force the user to know
about supported encodings. The current implementation is there because Java versions prior
to 1.4 couldn't be queried for supported character sets.
