Subject [jira] [Commented] (UIMA-2430) Remove "incubator" from DictionaryAnnotator packages
Date Tue, 10 Jul 2012 17:50:36 GMT

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/UIMA-2430?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13410621#comment-13410621

Marshall Schor commented on UIMA-2430:

The compatibility issue arises because the annotations the Dictionary Annotator adds to the
CAS are using these package names.

So this means that if we change this, anyone who was using a previous version of the Dictionary
Annotator and switches to this "new" version will have their user application code no longer

To me, this was not worth changing - it has no functional benefit, and breaks existing user
code and applications.
> Remove "incubator" from DictionaryAnnotator packages
> ----------------------------------------------------
> Key: UIMA-2430
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/UIMA-2430
> Project: UIMA
> Issue Type: Bug
> Affects Versions: 2.3.1Addons
> Reporter: Tommaso Teofili
> Assignee: Tommaso Teofili
> Fix For: 2.4.0Addons
> the XMLBeans generated type system types wrongly contain the 'incubator' string inside
package definitions, this has to be removed since UIMA is not inside the Incubator anymore
making it consistent with other packages/classes.
