Subject [jira] [Created] (UIMA-2999) DUCC ducc_ling don't create directories before switching IDs!
Date Fri, 14 Jun 2013 18:00:22 GMT
Jim Challenger created UIMA-2999:

Summary: DUCC ducc_ling don't create directories before switching IDs!
                 Key: UIMA-2999
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/UIMA-2999
             Project: UIMA
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: DUCC
            Reporter: Jim Challenger
            Assignee: Jim Challenger
             Fix For: 1.0-Ducc

Ducc_ling must not do anything at all before switching IDs. Somehow the code that creates
the log dir hierarchy slid up before the ID switch. Both the OR and the CLI try to write
to the logdir but the OR has to use ducc_ling. On fast systems (with local disk vs NFS),
the OR can easily win the race and the logdir is written with incorrect ownership. CLI then
tries to write the properties file and gets an invalid permissions error.
