I assume that this problem would not occur (if the patch is correctly implemented). The block
should only be active inside the PEAR (or if there wasn't really a switch). In the case of
the PEAR the class loader should switch back.

(Maybe I do not understand the mechanisms.)

I propose to do another test for this failure case.
