That shouldn't be difficult.  You'll probably just need to subclass
the VelocityViewServlet and override performMerge(template,context,
writer);  Then you can perform the merge once to the given
HttpServletResponse writer and then remerge using a FileWriter or
whatever.  Of course, i haven't done this myself, so i can't guarantee
this is the best way. :)
