= Check out and build Tuscany =

'''1. Check out the Tuscany source code from the SVN repository'''

Please make sure you have "svn" client (v1.3) and "maven" (2.0.2) installed and configurated.

Open a command window and create a folder such as "Tuscany".

> md Tuscany

> cd Tuscany

> svn co

It will check out the source code from the SVN repository. Depending on your network bandwidth,
it may take several minutes.

'''2. Build Tuscany using Apache Maven 2'''

Excute the following commands:

> cd java

> mvn

Maven will then automatically download all the jars, compile, test and build the Tuscany milestone

'''3. Configure the Eclipse IDE for Tuscany'''

1) Define a classpath variable "M2_REPO" so that Eclipse can know the path to the local maven
repository . Execute the following command:

> mvn -Declipse.workspace=<path-to-eclipse-workspace> eclipse:add-maven-repo

2) Generate Eclipse configuration files

> mvn eclipse:eclipse

For more details about the maven eclipse plugin, please refer to the following links:

3) Load Tuscany projects into Eclipse

You can import the project into your eclipse workspace (From the menu bar, select File >Import
>Existing Projects into Workspace). Set the "root directory" to "Tuscany_M1/

java" and Eclipse will discover all the projects. Then select the projects from the list.
