Colm O hEigeartaigh commented on WSS-589:
-----------------------------------------

It sounds like you might be using the SIG_PROP_REF_ID incorrectly. The SIG_PROP_REF_ID value
is a String. This String value is then used as the key with which to retrieve the Crypto Object
from the message context. For example, see the following code from CXF's PolicyBasedWSS4JInInterceptor:

final String signCryptoRefId = signCrypto != null ? "RefId-" + signCrypto.hashCode() : null;

        if (signCrypto != null) {
            message.put(WSHandlerConstants.DEC_PROP_REF_ID, signCryptoRefId);
            message.put(signCryptoRefId, signCrypto);
        }

> When using SIG_PROP_REF_ID you get a ClassCastException because it will try to cast the
Crypto instance to a String.
> This happens in line 1382 og WSHandler.
> For me this means that WSSecSignatureSAML will also fail because it fails when the variable
userCrypto is null.
