Dan Jemiolo commented on MUSE-221:
----------------------------------

Just to clarify... you're getting a byte[] (array) type when you specify xsd:byte or xsd:base64Binary
right? So the generation is correct, we just need to improve the serializer(?)

Take a look at the org.apache.muse.core.serializer.ByteArraySerializer in muse-core. You will
want to create a derivative or that and add the base64 support. All you really need to do
is create the serializer class and unit test it on XML/byte[] values; once it's working I
can add it to muse-core and make sure it gets enabled.

Also, I see that the commons-coded jar is only 45 KB - that's good, but does it have any dependencies?
The download doesn't appear to, but ibiblio is very slow today, I wasn't able to confirm that
it's an independent jar. I just want to make sure we're not dragging in a ton of code from
commons-* to get the codec support.

> When xsd:binaryBase64 is used a message in WSDL description, wsdl2java doesn't generates
the proper mapping, it simply uses org.w3c.dom.Element as when a unknown type is used or xsd:anyType
is used.
> The addition of binaryBase64 will allow the deployment custom capabilities that receive/return
binary data.
