if I simply use an https URL and the default client, I get the erros
like this:
"unable to find valid certification path to requested target", whether the

As I already wrote, IMO you should simply be able to use an https URL
and the default client. (If only I knew why anyone is so keen on using
these special classes? I should have removed them. :-(
