Subject RE: old (1999) schema documents
Date Mon, 15 Mar 2004 03:57:25 GMT

Thanks Eric - we've done this, and everything is going ok so far. I'd
still be interested to hear confirmation that 2001 is fully backwards
compatible.

cheers

There is an option when loading/parsing xmlbeans documents which can
substitute one namespace for another:

    setLoadSubstituteNamespaces

With this, you can map the 1999 namespace for the 2001 namespace when
loading a document.

Hope this helps,
Eric

Subject: old (1999) schema documents

hey all,

We're using xmlbeans for receiving soap documents, and have we've just
started testing with a trading partner who have sent us the following:

<SOAP-ENV:Envelope
SOAP-ENV:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"
xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
xmlns:SOAP-ENC="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"
xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema-instance">
...
</SOAP-ENV:Envelope>

Now, there are several issues here. Firstly the encodingStyle attr,
which
isn't schema valid, but I can strip that out as it doesn't concern me.
However, the 1999 schema and schema instance references do cause a
concern.
The namespaces aren't actually used, so I can safely ignore them in this
case, but I'm unsure of the best road forward.

Has anyone else had experience with old schema documents and xmlbeans?
In
this case our trading partner cant send new documents as they're using
webmethods and the version they have sends this.

cheers
