Hi Oliver,

    You want to implement an extension handler:

http://xml.apache.org/batik/extendingBatik.html#customXMLTags

    You might also want to look at the code in batik.extension.svg
In particular the classes:

BatikStarElement, BatikStarElementBridge, BatikDomExtension &
BatikBridgeExtension.
