Subject TextArea widget with Batik 1.6

Hello everyone,..

I have developed a TextArea widget in Adobe v6 beta which supports single 
and multiple line(s) of text using SVG 'text' element for the single line 
and 'flow' element (that's equivalent to flowRoot in Batik) in multiple 
line. Now I am trying to get it to work with Batik 1.6 since it includes 
text flow. My trouble is, Batik flowPara element (SVGOMFlowParaElement) does 
not seem to support 'getStartPositionOfChar' which is vital to implement the 
cursor. Is that because it's not implemented yet or is there any other way 
to get around this?

Any help will be much appreciated.
