Hello Santiago,
I tried your xml / xsl with both Arial and Verdana fonts without any problem: all characters
appear correctly... maybe the problem comes from your metrics file. Try to see if the problem
persists with another font (like verdana)... In the document properties in Acrobat (File -
Document Properties - Fonts), do you see your font embedded?
Camille

Hello

Te XML simple is:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" ?>

<tarifa>

<indice>

<titulo>Index</titulo>

<pagina>Page</pagina>

</indice>

<pie-pagina>

<linea>Doporučené maloobchodní ceny bez DPH</linea>

<linea>Platné od 04/11/2004</linea>

</pie-pagina>

<tamletra>

<texto>6</texto>

<textocod>6</textocod>

<encabtabla>6</encabtabla>

<pie>5</pie>

AS you can see the problem is in the #233 and #269 chars

The xsl that writes it is:

                                                <xsl:for-each select="//linea">

                                                 <fo:table-row>

                                                             <fo:table-cell number-columns-spanned="2">

                                                                       <fo:block text-align="center"
font-size="{//tampie}pt" font-family="Arial">

                                                                                  <xsl:value-of
select="." disable-output-escaping="yes"/>

                                               </fo:block>

                                                             </fo:table-cell>

                                                 </fo:table-row>

                                               </xsl:for-each>

The value of <linea> strings are written in <xsl:value-of select="." disable-output-escaping="yes"/>

Thanks

Hi Santiago,

I have no problem generating czech characters. Do you have a sample of your xml / xsl? Also
did you register and embed the font types? You can check here:

http://xml.apache.org/fop/faq.html#pdf-embed-font

and here:

http://xml.apache.org/fop/fonts.html

Subject: Can't generate Czech characters

Hello

I've problems generating PDF with Czech characters. I'm using FOP 0.2.5 and tried to setup:

+ Fonts (I've used Arial fonts from Czech Windows 2000)

+ Hyphenation (I've found cs set file)

But always the PDF returns the # and the ? character.

¿Any idea?
