Chances are it is the same problem.  Check with a document which
generates three digit page numbers (perhaps more digits), for example.
by adding another page sequence with a high initial page number.

The fix in 0.20.5 involves a calling layout routines from the renderer,
which is difficult to implement the same way in the 0.9x architecture.
Perhaps someone will come up with a clever solution to the problem.

Meanwhile, all you can do is implementing a two stage process: render
to the XML area format, grab somehow the resolved page numbers, then
render again to the intended target format using the resolved page
numbers instead of the page number citations.
