Subject [jira] [Commented] (AMBARI-9480) Ranger password properties are incorrectly included in Blueprint export
Date Wed, 18 Mar 2015 16:30:40 GMT

Robert Nettleton commented on AMBARI-9480:

[~jluniya], This issue has been moved to Ambari 2.1 for further investigation. The properties
in question in Ranger are actually only valid when SSL is enabled. Currently, the Ambari
stacks to do not provide support for marking a property as only useful when a certain connection
type is used.

It is likely that any fix for this in the future will require modifications to the Ambari
stack metadata.

> Some new security configuration properties related to Ranger have been added to the stack
definitions. Some of these properties are actually password configuration properties, but
are not currently marked as such in the metadata.
> This causes exporting a Blueprint from a running cluster to include this password information
in the exported Blueprint.

as being of propert-type "PASSWORD". This will allow the Blueprint configuration processor
to determine that these are indeed password properties, and should not be included in an exported
