Subject DO NOT REPLY [Bug 48884] New: Very hard to cross-compile
Date Wed, 10 Mar 2010 09:48:27 GMT
https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=48884

           Summary: Very hard to cross-compile
           Product: APR
           Version: 1.3.9
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: APR
        AssignedTo: bugs@apr.apache.org
        ReportedBy: mflorian@lafka.net

I needed to port apr to an OpenWrt router with a broadcom 2.4 mips chipset, as
a prerequisite for log4cxx. The configure script failed on multiple occasions,
so I made a few ugly hacks to get it to work. In the end it compiled, but
produced only segfaults on the target machine.

So I gave up and decided to go without apr and log4cxx.

I can't propose a fix, but maybe the build process for apr can be made a bit
more cross-compiling friendly in future versions.
