Subject [jira] [Commented] (ARIES-732) The ability to exclude bundles from the archive while still having them listed in Application-Content header

Graham Charters commented on ARIES-732:
---------------------------------------

Currently, the eba-maven-plugin by default includes the direct dependencies in the Application-Content
and in the archive. There is a configuration option to also include transitive dependencies
in the .eba archive as follows:

<configuration>
  <useTransitiveDependencies>true</useTransitiveDependencies>
</configuration>

In the proposed design <useTransitiveDependencies/> would be deprecated (it's design
was a little short-sighted).  Instead, we'd have a single element <archiveContent />
with three values to control the bundles that go into the .eba:
none - no bundles are included
applicationContent - direct dependencies go into the content
all - direct and transitive dependencies go into the content

> Today, all bundles in the dependencies tag are automatically archived in the EBA + a
reference to them is added to the Application-Content header.
> We need the ability to exclude bundles from being archived in the eba while still having
a reference for them in the Application-Content header.
> Graham suggested:
> "to have a single configuration of something like <archiveContent / > with values
of 'none', 'applicationContent', 'all'     ".
> Even though we don't understand the "all" value.
