Subject [jira] [Commented] (GIRAPH-228) SimpleTriangleClosingVertex should not use ArrayWritable for a vertex value
Date Mon, 02 Jul 2012 17:51:21 GMT

Eli Reisman commented on GIRAPH-228:

ArrayListWritable patch, including change to POM to import edu.umd.cloud9 jar are done and
pass mvn verify, but I am not uploading yet. If you guys sign off on adding the library, I
can add it. Otherwise the existing patch that outputs text should be put into the repo to
fix array probs with GIRAPH-217. Also 217 might have similar problems now with the call to
iterator() being removed from the API that my earier 228 patch did.

Thanks again for the advice, I think a multigraph example using ArrayListWritable for <E>
param would be in order if this jar is ok to include in the project. Its also easier to work
with in compute() than ArrayWritable. Yay!

long. I followed several instructions from Hadoop about subclassing and using existing ArrayWritables,
always both methods will compile with 'mvn verify' nicely, but break in actual use.
seems to be the culprit. Don't know if I can solve this myself in a way that will be pleasing
to everyone. See GIRAPH-227 if you can help fix this ArrayWritable problem. As far as the
vertex example, I'll covert it (and related tests) to Text output now.
> Thanks again to Sean Choi, who noticed this and used the same (Text for tuples) solution
successfully. ;)
