Subject [jira] [Created] (OAK-293) MongoDB-based MicroKernel
Date Thu, 06 Sep 2012 19:37:07 GMT
Philipp Marx created OAK-293:

             Summary: MongoDB-based MicroKernel
                 Key: OAK-293
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OAK-293
             Project: Jackrabbit Oak
          Issue Type: New Feature
          Components: mk
            Reporter: Philipp Marx

There should be an implementation of the MicroKernel based on MongoDB. It should support scalability
by providing a model which can handle multiple concurrent writes and has a great throughput
for reads (consistent).
MongoDB seems to already supply these requirements naturally. If we can find a model which
fits JCR on top of MongoDB this would greatly improve throughput by allowing horizontal scaling.
