As a start, I implemented a restartable iterator (an node iterator that can start at any path).
It is using the JCR API, because such an iterator is of "independent interest".

I know that for reindexing, we don't need the JCR API, and we should avoid loading all children
in memory if there are many child nodes. But I guess (hope) all that is relatively easy to
