Subject DO NOT REPLY [Bug 44867] New: DailyRollingFileAppender: log4j: inconsistency in generating logs
Date Thu, 24 Apr 2008 12:10:16 GMT

           Summary: DailyRollingFileAppender: log4j: inconsistency in
                    generating logs
           Product: Log4j
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: critical
          Priority: P1
         Component: Appender
        AssignedTo: log4j-dev@logging.apache.org
        ReportedBy: sachingurjar@yahoo.com
                CC: sachingurjar@yahoo.com

Log4j is not functioning properly across different tomcat servers as it logs
data intermittently. We are using DailyRollingFileAppender and rollover is
hourly. When the file rolls to the next hour data seems to be logged to the
previous hour at times. I have checked logger.properties and it doesn't seem
like anything is out of place.

The logs are missing data as there are several hours where no logs were
captured across all servers.

Please let us know if this is fixed in any release branch.
