Subject DO NOT REPLY [Bug 51055] New: Appender not working properly with Windows Server 2008
Date Wed, 13 Apr 2011 13:51:35 GMT

Summary: Appender not working properly with Windows Server 2008
           Product: Log4j
           Version: 1.2
          Platform: PC
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Appender
        AssignedTo: log4j-dev@logging.apache.org
        ReportedBy: jeff.schwartz@tradition.com

I have a service that is writing to a logfile via a FileAppender.
After logging a new line, I do not see the file size or modification date
change in my windows explorer. I have a Tail application that keeps a
connection open to the logfile and it doesn't show any changes either.
Only when I open the file itself, do you see the file size and modification
date change. Additionally, the new information also shows up in the Tail

This is not a problem with XP, 2003, or Linux.
