Subject RE: Newbie question on setting different levels

OK, you are forcing me to admit my sins. This morning I woke up and guessed
the problem (I knew I should have waited another day before asking for
help). I had to get to work to verify I was right. Mark was sort-a on the
right track except I was the culprit.

As Paul and Mark pointed out, everything looks good in what I sent. The
problem was in some code I hadn't sent. Originally, I had configured log4j
programatically. Obviously, things work better (more flexibly) if you move
the configuration to the xml file so yesterday, I made the change. And, I
removed MOST of the programmatic configuration code. As of this morning, I
believe it is now all gone (after numerous greps) and things do work exactly
as I expected and understood they would.

Sorry and thanks for looking at it.

Scott

Mark, good thinking, I'd put some money down that something like that is
happening, a similar thing happened to me.
