[~bartimeux]/[~aneela] Ranger does support LDAP authentication. In fact it supports the following
three sources (along with internal users that are created from Ranger Admin itself) :
# LDAP
# AD
# UNIX

Look for the section "Configuring Ranger Admin Authentication Modes" in this [Ranger doc|https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/RANGER/Apache+Ranger+0.5.0+Installation]

Please note: the user you are trying to log into must first be synced using Ranger UserSync.
