Marcelo Vanzin resolved SPARK-15377.
------------------------------------
    Resolution: Not A Problem

Hi [~fabian_twm],

We generally use the mailing list for questions, not JIRA. Unfortunately we can't disable
that issue type, so here we are...

Anyway, it seems to me that either you're running a really old external shuffle service (instead
of the one from 1.6.1), or that the shuffle service is not properly configured (e.g. it doesn't
have "spark.authenticate=true" set).

You can try to see if that's the case by disabling use of the external shuffle service when
starting app (and dynamic allocation, if that's also enabled).

e.g. {{--conf spark.shuffle.service.enabled=false --num-executors 2}}

> Project: Spark
> Issue Type: Question

> Affects Versions: 1.6.1

> Hi there,
> I wonder if anyone gotten SASL to work with Spark 1.6.1 on YARN?
> At this point in time, I cant confirm if this is a bug or not, but, it's definitely reproducible.
> Basically Spark documentation states that you only require 3 parameters enabled:
> spark.authenticate.enableSaslEncryption=true
> spark.network.sasl.serverAlwaysEncrypt=true
> spark.authenticate=true
> http://spark.apache.org/docs/latest/security.html
> However, upon launching my spark job with --master yarn and --deploy-mode client, I see
the following in my spark executors logs:
> 6/05/17 06:50:51 ERROR client.TransportClientFactory: Exception while bootstrapping client
after 29 ms
> java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Unknown message type:
