Subject [jira] [Created] (SPARK-30312) Preserve path permission when truncate table
Date Thu, 19 Dec 2019 22:10:00 GMT
L. C. Hsieh created SPARK-30312:
-----------------------------------

Summary: Preserve path permission when truncate table
                 Key: SPARK-30312
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-30312
             Project: Spark
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: SQL
    Affects Versions: 3.0.0
            Reporter: L. C. Hsieh
            Assignee: L. C. Hsieh

When Spark SQL truncates table, it deletes the paths of table/partitions, then re-create new
ones. If custom permission/acls are set on the paths, the metadata will be deleted.

We should preserve original permission/acls if possible.
