We're shooting for 1.99.5: Sqoop2 development is pretty active these days. Hopefully in the next few months we'll see 1.99.5. 1.99.4 is in the process of being released.

Until then though, if you just need incremental import, try using an apache bigtop distribution of Sqoop: It will give you packages to install using your favorite flavor of linux.

If the above doesn't work, you can download binary distributions of Sqoop: Choose a mirror and download the distribution marked hadoop-2.0.4-alpha.

If that doesn't work either, you can try one of the many vendors that provide Hadoop.

I need to use the incremental import of sqoop.
But i noticed that sqoop2  can't support it ?
Or it can support incremental import ?

Thank you

Building against a later version of Hadoop is highly discouraged. Certain client jars have changed which will probably cause issues (likely this one).

What's your use case? Maybe we can figure something else out?

Also, checkout Sqoop2 for a better Java client if that's what you need.

NOTE: Hadoop maintains wire compatibility for major versions. This means that old clients can be used against newer servers as long as they share the same major version number.

Hi, i try not to  change build.xml now  , and still have the same problem.
(just use "ant package" to build)

Then I add  mysql-connector-java-5.1.34-bin.jar to sqoop lib
try the same command

sqoop import --connect jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/test --username xxx --password xxxx --table user1 -m 1

How can I modified the error?
so I can run sqoop on hadoop 2.4.1?
if there is other solution or file for hadoop 2.4.1 that i can check .

java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.apache.hadoop.http.HttpConfig.getSchemePrefix()Ljava/lang/String;

Thank you!

You shouldn't need to change the versions in build.xml. If should just work out of the box with any Hadoop 2 distribution.

this method seem to change in hadoop 2.4
how can i fix this bug and if sqoop 1.4.5 can support hadoop 2.4.1?
i can't find solution on web

Thank you!
