+1 (binding) 
   - verified sigs, md5/sha1 checksums
   - built from source and ran example jobs.

A minor nit which should be documented in the release wiki so that it does not happen for
the next RC/release:
  - release date in CHANGES.txt is incorrect. It should be the date when the vote is expected
to close and not when it started.

Also, given that as we have not yet established by-laws, I assume we are following the normal
conventions used in other projects that PMC votes are the only ones
that are binding for a release?
